**India close to buying Japan-made military aircraft**

India is set to become the first country since World War Two to buy a military aircraft from Japan, helping Prime Minister Shinzo Abe dismantle a ban on weapons exports that has kept his country's defence contractors out of foreign markets.

Japan will sell about 15 amphibious military planes to India in a move signalling the end of the country’s self-imposed military technology export ban that has been in place since the Second World War.

**India set to purchase Japan-made military aircraft**

In light of the new and improved economic ties between the two countries, India is now looking to purchase military aircraft from Japan. This will mark a first since the Second World War, since India will most likely be the first country to purchase military equipment from Japan, helping Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe move closer towards dismantling a nationwide ban on Japanese companies exporting military weapons.
